New Kinetic DX Electric Scooter Launched in India at Rs. 1.11 Lakh
The DX electric scooter, which costs Rs. 1.11 lakh for the DX model and Rs. 1.17 lakh for the DX+, was introduced in India today by Kinetic Watts and Volts Ltd., the electric vehicle branch of the larger Kinetic Group. With the new scooter, the legendary Kinetic DX is back, but this time it’s electric.
The original Kinetic Honda DX served as the model for the DX’s appearance. While incorporating contemporary stylistic features, the overall design silhouette pays respect to the DX. While drawing inspiration from the famous DX, each panel looks completely new and contemporary. The new Kinetic DX has a unique LED headlight with “Kinetic Logo-shaped” LED DRLs on either side. A modest tribute to the Kinetic Honda DX is added by the stubby visor with the Kinetic insignia.
The Kinetic DX has a 4.8kW hub-mounted BLDC electric motor underneath the bodywork. With its 2.6kWh LFP battery pack, the scooter has a 116km IDC range. However, the ARAI statistic has not yet been made public. The scooter has three ride modes: Range, Power, and Turbo, with a top speed of 90 kmph. Parking assistance also has a reverse mode.
Cruise control, an 8.8-inch instrument panel, a built-in speaker with Bluetooth, a keyless system, hill hold assistance, and other features are all included in the Kinetic DX. For extra convenience, the scooter also has a special Easy Charge system that integrates the charger into the body of the vehicle.
There are two models of the electric scooter: DX and DX+. In essence, the top-tier DX+ model includes the Telekinetic telematics system, which provides a number of connectivity capabilities including find my Kinetic, vehicle tracking, geo-fencing, and more. The usual warranty for the scooter is three years and 30,000 kilometers, but it can be extended to nine years and one million kilometers.
Though initially limited to 40,000 units, reservations are now being accepted. Established competitors of the Kinetic DX include the Bajaj Chetak electric, TVS iQube, Honda Activa e:, and others. Modern EV manufacturers like the Ather Rizta, Ola S1 Pro, and Vida VX2 will also compete with it.
