Is the Honda CB300R no longer available?

After six years of sales, Honda appears to have quietly withdrawn the 300cc neo-retro roadster, the Honda CB300R, in India, according to our dealership sources.

Honda sold just one CB300R in the last three months (Marchโ€“May 2025), according to SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers) sales data. The CB300R has not been a motorcycle with strong sales since its inception. Honda’s customer support claims that the bike is still available for purchase, despite our dealer sources stating that it was discontinued two to three months ago. Additionally, the bike is still available on the official website. We have contacted the brand to inquire about this, but we have not received a response as of yet.

On Honda’s official website, the CB300R is currently priced at Rs 2.40 lakh (ex-showroom Bangalore). At this price, it seems a little outdated because its competitors, the Triumph Speed 400 and the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450, provide significantly more features and performance. More significantly, while the CB300R is only available in a few cities and dealerships, the other two bikes are sold almost everywhere in the nation. In February 2019, the Honda CB300R was introduced in India, retailing for Rs 2.41 lakh. The bike had a simple but reasonably informative LCD screen, all LED lights, and a pretty neo-retro style. It was also rather small. 31PS was generated by a 286cc liquid-cooled motor at 9,000 rpm and 27.5Nm at 7,500 rpm. It was not the most powerful 300cc motorcycle in the segment, but with its light 146kg kerb weight, the bike offered great performance and handling.

The bike was given a new paint job, a golden inverted fork, and a BS6 engine update in January 2022. In addition to these changes, the price increased dramatically to Rs 2.77 lakh, which was a lot of money for what it provided. After realizing this, Honda was able to drastically reduce the price in 2023 (by Rs 37,000) through extensive localization. However, the harm was done because the market was already flourishing with a number of feature-rich competitors, rendering the CB300R all but obsolete.

Honda has been very active in the last several months, launching numerous large motorcycles in India. However, Honda has nothing to offer Indian enthusiasts seeking a 300cc performance-focused motorbike now that the CB300R is no longer available. Although we do have the Honda CB300F, it is really just a sporty commuter. We anticipate that Honda will introduce the CB500F in India shortly after releasing the NX500 and Rebel 500. In the lucrative 400โ€“500cc naked bike market, Honda would have an advantage against the Aprilia Tuono 457 as a result.
